Milan are keen to sign Sporting Lisbon midfielder Miguel Veloso, according to the player's agent.
Veloso has impressed for Sporting during the past couple of seasons and is currently part of Portugal's squad at Euro 2008.
He has been linked with a string of leading European clubs, with Milan now weighing up a big-money bid for the 22-year-old.
His representative Paulo Barbosa claims Milan have held a long-term interest in signing Veloso, although any talks are on hold until the European Championship is over.
"I can confirm Milan's interest in Veloso," Barbosa told Teleradiostereo. "He has been liked by the Rossoneri for quite a long time.
"Sporting Lisbon have fixed a release clause of 30million euros (£23.8m), but after the European Championship the two sides could sit around a table to negotiate.
"For the moment, Veloso is keeping his concentration on the tournament."
