Leaders PSV Eindhoven won the contest between the top two sides in the Dutch league as Otman Bakkal's strike condemned Feyenoord to their first home setback of the season.
Hofs dismissed
An unmarked Bakkal scored what proved to be the only goal of the game five minutes before the interval following some fine work from Brazilian full-back Alcides. The home side's hopes of getting back into the match were given a major blow when Nicky Hofs was sent off on 63 minutes after receiving his second yellow card.
Lovre double
FC Groningen moved level on points with Feyenoord, although they have played one game more than the Rotterdam side, after they were 3-2 victors at home to SC Excelsior. Goran Lovre struck twice, including a 90th-minute winner, to secure the points after the league's bottom side had twice hauled themselves level in a five-goal second-half. In the day's other two matches, NAC Breda were held to a 0-0 draw by VVV Venlo and Roda JC drew 1-1 with Willem II.
